This sample db demonstrates selection of a column in source subform and updating the selected target column in destination subform accordingly.
Two styles are covered:
(a) Full Column.
(b) Part Column.
Full Column Mode:
(a) In full column mode, dbl clicking anywhere in the desired column in source
subform selects the entire column. It is a simulated selection, highlighting the
column in light blue color.
(b) Similarly, dbl clicking anywhere in the desired column in destination subform
selects the entire column, highlighting it in yellow color.
(c) On clicking the copy/paste command button on parent form, contents of
destination column get updated as per the source column. In confirmation of
completion of this process, the color of destination column changes to orange.
Part-Column Mode:
(a) In part-column mode, dbl clicking on any cell in the desired column in source
subform selects the cell as start of data block. Dbl clicking any other cell (as
end cell) in the same column results in simulated selection of all cells from start
cell to end cell. This block of cells gets highlighted in light blue color.
(b) Dbl clicking any cell in the desired column in destination subform identifies
that cell as starting point for target data block. This cell gets highlighted in
yellow color.
(c) On clicking the copy/paste command button on parent form, contents of
destination data block get updated as per the source data block. In
confirmation of completion of this process, the color of destination data block
changes to orange. Download Access 2K/XP/2K3/2K7: http://www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/forum/uploads/37/Form_ContinuousCopyPasteColumns.zip - uploads/37/Form_ContinuousCopyPasteColumns.zip
